Lo studio molto dettagliato pone in essere la cronistoria dell'incremento delle prevalenza dell'autismo in USA con documentazioni e moltissimi grafici
Perchè oramai è chiaro che " non è stato un caso ".
Nel 2000 secondo la fonte ufficiale federale USA il CDC la prevalenza si attestava su

The measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccine was added to the childhood
immunization schedule in Denmark in 1987. From 1998 to the present, there has
been concern over whether there is an association between MMR vaccination and
autism. Prevalence of autism by age category during 1980 to 2002 was
investigated, using data from a nationwide computerized registration system, the
Danish Psychiatric Central Register, in order to compare the periods preceding
and following introduction of MMR vaccine.
Prior to a classification change in 1993/1994 and a change in enrollment in
1995, an increase in autism prevalence was noted. Linear regression analysis was
performed separately on the trend during 1990 to 1992, the period that preceded the
introduction of both effects. The prevalence in 2000 could then be derived excluding the
sources of ascertainment bias. Prevalence of autism among children
aged 5-9 years increased from a mean of 8.38/100,000 in the pre-licensure era (1980-
1986) to 71.43/100,000 in 2000 and leveled off during 2001-2002. The relative risk (RR)
is therefore 8.5 (95% CI, 5.7 to 12.7). After adjusting for greater diagnostic awareness,
the RR is 4.7 (95% CI, 3.1 to 7.2). Among individuals less than 15 years old, the
adjusted RR is 4.1 (95% CI, 3.5 to 4.9). Longitudinal trends in prevalence data
suggest a temporal association between the introduction of MMR vaccine in
Denmark and the rise in autism. This contradicts an earlier report.
Health authorities should develop safer vaccination strategies and support further
investigation of the hypothesized link between the MMR vaccine and autism.

Questo è un filone di ricerca nella sindrome autistica, anche se non ben percorso
La ricerca genetica assorbe tutte o quasi le risorse umane ed economiche in questo settore e finora non ha portato ad alcuna cosa..
Molto probabilmente si vuole proprio questo e cioè sviare la ricerca in vicoli ciechi?

Abstract
We determined the occurrence of gut mucosal damage using the intestinal permeability test in 21 autistic children who had no clinical and laboratory findings consistent with known intestinal disorders. An altered intestinal permeability was found in 9 of the 21 (43%) autistic patients, but in none of the 40 controls. Compared to the controls, these nine patients showed a similar mean mannitol recovery, but a significantly higher mean lactulose recovery (1.64% +/- 1.43 vs 0.38% +/- 0.14; P < 0.001). We speculate that an altered intestinal permeability could represent a possible mechanism for the increased passage through the gut mucosa of peptides derived from foods with subsequent behavioural abnormalities.

CaV1.2, the cardiac L-type calcium channel, is important for excitation and contraction of the heart. Its role in other tissues is unclear. Here we present Timothy syndrome, a novel disorder characterized by multiorgan dysfunction including lethal arrhythmias, webbing of fingers and toes, congenital heart disease, immune deficiency, intermittent hypoglycemia, cognitive abnormalities, and autism. In every case, Timothy syndrome results from the identical, de novo CaV1.2 missense mutation G406R. CaV1.2 is expressed in all affected tissues. Functional expression reveals that G406R produces maintained inward Ca2+ currents by causing nearly complete loss of voltage-dependent channel inactivation. This likely induces intracellular Ca2+ overload in multiple cell types. In the heart, prolonged Ca2+ current delays cardiomyocyte repolarization and increases risk of arrhythmia, the ultimate cause of death in this disorder. These discoveries establish the importance of CaV1.2 in human physiology and development and implicate Ca2+ signaling in autism.
